DESCRIPTION:Authentic Movement is an expressive\, improvisational movement practice that allows artists to tune in to inner impulses with eyes closed in front of a witness. Movers explore spontaneous gestures\, movements or stillness following impulses in present moment. The result is access to a world of creative potential. No previous experience is needed. Everyone moves at their own pace. The space is non-judgmental and supportive. Even inner judges receive help if they begin to take over.\nPrice: $65\nAudrey Jolly MA RP is an interdisciplinary artist. She has studied movement for over 50 years\, authentic movement for over 12. She has her Masters in psychology and movement from York University and uses creativity and movement in her body-centered psychotherapy practice in Toronto. Audrey exhibits as a painter and performer yearly and is currently writing a book on creativity and healing.

DESCRIPTION:Jennifer’s concert will invite outstanding local singers who have achieved a level of excellence in her Vocal Masterclass to join her evening concert.\nPrice: $25\nJennifer Tung\, currently the vocal department coordinator\, vocal coach and faculty of the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto\, Jennifer is one of the most sought after collaborative pianist\, teacher and soprano in Ontario. Having received a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Master of Music in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music from the world renowned Eastman School of Music\, Jennifer’s versatility has allowed her career to develop in very unique ways. As a singer\, she has collaborated with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra\, St. Paul’s Festival Orchestra\, Rochester Chanber Orchestra\, Toronto Sinfonietta\, Mississauga Symphony Orchestra to name a few. \nPassionate fort the art of recital as both a singer and a collaborative pianist\, Jennifer has performed recitals across North America and around the world from Toronto\, Chicago\, Los Angeles\, Malibu\, Waimea (Hawaii) to Alderburgh and Hong Kong. An advocate of contemporary music\, she was appointed as the repetiteur and pianist for the inaugural season of the Tapestry New Opera Studio. She has also worked closely with renowned contemporary composers such as Tom Cipullo\, Ricky Ian Gordon\, John Harbisonl Jake Heggie\, Ben Moore and John Musto. As a vocal coach\, Jennifer has served as music director for Toronto’s Summer Opera Lyric Theatre and has directed Mozart’s Don Giovanni\, Die Zaubeflote\, Le Nozze di Figaro\, Verdi’s La Traviata and Offenbach’s La Vie Parisienne and has worked with world renowned collaborative pianists such as Margo Garette\, Graham Johnson\, Martin Kratz and Roger Vignoles. She has presented master classes in Toronto\, Los Angeles\, Riverside and Irvine and has severed on faculty in summer programs across North America and in Europe such as Hawaii Performing Arts Festival and Vianden Music Festival in Luxemberg. She is currently the Director of the Intern Program for Songfest@Colburn in Los Angeles.

Brought to you by Opera Muskoka and Muskoka Chautauqua.\nCost: $35\nComposer: Giacomo Puccini; Librettists: Luigi Illica & Guiseppe Giacosa\nLa Boheme premiered at Teatro Regio\, Turin on February 1\, 1896. \nPuccini based La Boheme on Henry Murger’s ‘Scene’s de la view de Boheme’. Set in four acts it is a story about student life in Paris’s Latin Quarter in the mid-1800’s.\nAct 1 opens in an typical Bohemian attic studio where we find Rudolfo and his three friends\, with no heat and little food\, sharing their impoverished life on Christmas Eve.\nAct 2 opens on a square in the Latin Quarter surrounded by many shops and a cafe. The students have come to the cafe to celebrate Christmas Eve amid the throngs of people in the square.\nAct 3 opens at the toll-gate on the road from Orleans into Paris. A snow-covered landscape finds the ailing Mimi struggling to reach a tavern where Marcel and Musetta are enjoying the gaiety of the season.\nAct 4 opens once again in the studio where the four friends have gathered to commiserate with each other over their poverty stricken lifestyle.
