SUMMARY:Art Party with Audrey Jolly and Sue Reynolds
DESCRIPTION:Audrey Jolly MA RP is an interdisciplinary artist. She has studied movement for over 50 years\, authentic movement for over 12. She has her Masters in psychology and movement from York University and uses creativity and movement in her body-centered psychotherapy practice in Toronto. Audrey exhibits as a painter and performer yearly and is currently writing a book on creativity and healing.\nSusan Lynn Reynolds is a writer\, teacher and practicing psychotherapist. She teaches writing through workshops in the community\, in college continuing education programs\, and in social services settings. She writes and has won awards for her YA novel\, short stories\, poems and non-fiction. She has been leading writing workshops for female inmates at Central East Correctional Centre for twelve years\, a program for which she received the June Callwood Award. Sue also leads professional training for Amherst Writers International and the Toronto Writers Collective and is the Executive Director of Amherst Writers Canada. She is passionate about the power of writing to change lives.\nCome enjoy an art party with Audrey and Sue in the North Lodge Library at Clevelands House. $35 per person.

DESCRIPTION:Bracebridge’s own Daevyd Pepper\, MFA\, has organized and will be performing in Puccini’s La Boheme\, in Italian\, with English subtitles. Brought to you by Opera Muskoka and Muskoka Chautauqua.\nCost: $35\nComposer: Giacomo Puccini; Librettists: Luigi Illica & Guiseppe Giacosa\nLa Boheme premiered at Teatro Regio\, Turin on February 1\, 1896. \nPuccini based La Boheme on Henry Murger’s ‘Scene’s de la view de Boheme’. Set in four acts it is a story about student life in Paris’s Latin Quarter in the mid-1800’s.\nAct 1 opens in an typical Bohemian attic studio where we find Rudolfo and his three friends\, with no heat and little food\, sharing their impoverished life on Christmas Eve.\nAct 2 opens on a square in the Latin Quarter surrounded by many shops and a cafe. The students have come to the cafe to celebrate Christmas Eve amid the throngs of people in the square.\nAct 3 opens at the toll-gate on the road from Orleans into Paris. A snow-covered landscape finds the ailing Mimi struggling to reach a tavern where Marcel and Musetta are enjoying the gaiety of the season.\nAct 4 opens once again in the studio where the four friends have gathered to commiserate with each other over their poverty stricken lifestyle.
